Nostalgic Sample Maid of Honor Speech
In this sample maid of honor speech, the speaker recounts some of the great times she shared with the bride and adds a splash of humor to a touching maid of honor speech.
I can’t believe how amazing today is, and that I’m finally seeing someone I care about so much getting married! It seems like just yesterday we were quoting movie lines, eating happy meals, and making each other laugh. Oh wait that was yesterday! Always remember to laugh, smile, and enjoy life. Thank you for showing me the true meaning of being a sister. You have always been there for me and I will always be there for you. And [groom], always remember that [bride] is always right, and if you have a problem with that then you can bring it up with me!
[bride] and I have supported each other through good times and bad times. I have many wonderful memories of time spent with [bride], I’m sure we all do. The fondest memory we will now have is watching her marry her best friend and the love of her life. I don’t know a single other couple more sure of their love. I know how much joy [bride] has brought into all of our lives, and I know that she will bring much happiness into [groom’s] life as well.
[bride] has always been my friend, confidant, and partner in crime. She was there for me through many of my firsts. My first break up, my first high school party, and now I get to see her through one of her firsts, her first marriage. Just kidding, her only marriage I’m sure.
Anyone who knows [bride and groom] knows how they complement each other perfectly. They treat each other well and they make each other happy. I can’t imagine two people that deserve happiness more and I can’t be more sure that you’ve found it. I know the future holds great things for both of you. And I am excited to see what you choose to make of it.
On behalf of everyone here I’d like to tell you how wonderful today has been and how honored we are to be with you on this special day. Separately you are both incredible, wonderful people, but today you are complete. It now gives me immense pleasure to invite all of you to raise your glasses to wish our gorgeous bride and our dashing groom a long and happy marriage. To love, laughter and happily ever after, may
“for better or worse” be far better than worse. To [bride and groom!]
